A few years ago a good friend and wise soul shared this approach with me. I am a lucky person to be connected to so many wise people!
We talked about times we seem to be at an impasse in a conversation, argument or debate. My friend had seen our team debate many things over the years. This team was needing a woman’s touch as male energy had taken the discussion to a heightened place energetically. Or perhaps a lower place.
My friends advice was to offer up that the other may be right, by saying, “You may be right.”
This statement neutralizes the energies as it gives the other an acknowledgement of the possible credibility of their position. It doesn’t remain contentious and retains your position as well. It’s a way of saying, I agree to disagree but with more empowerment for the other. The world could use a bit more compassion about now as we’re in a heightened place on so many fronts.
Texans have a similar statement, “Well, bless your heart.” That one is kinda like, “Ain’t she/he a peach?”
Gonna keep it short today. Looking forward to a few crazy things this week. My approach will be to be like rubber.
Or something like that. Have a great everything.
